In the last 48 hours our Support Team has been made aware of an uptick in infections.
Below you’ll find a quick synopsis of what we’re seeing.
All infections were initiated from:
• End-user opens phishing email
• Phishing email either has a url to download or an already attached zip file
• Inside the zip file is a .doc file that is macro based
• End-user enables the macro and infects their machine
ITI’s layered cybersecurity strategy has blocked this attack and attacks like it, but please be very cautious when reviewing email (emails, their attachments, and embedded links)
The Office 365 email security offering alone WILL NOT prevent this. For our clients without additional email protection, we’re evaluating solutions.
